Cheryl, currently living in Whistler, has been paddling and racing for over 23 years.  She has raced in many different canoe disciplines including, outrigger, sprint kayak, marathon canoe and dragon boat.  She has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success including winning dragon boat world championships in 1989 and 1996, Na Wahine O’ Ke Kai in 2004, Molokai to Oahu OC-2 in 2007 and multiple medals in the 2008 IVF World Sprints as a member of the masters and open V-6 and V-12 crews.  Cheryl can turn a V-6 on a dime, a skill that other Canadians emulate and, we suspect, after 2008, the Tahitians may too!

Cheryl has been invaluable in helping train Canadian sprint steerspeople and paddlers through partnering with Kamini to coach at several sprint clinics before and since Canada's success at the 2008 IVF World Sprints.  We are fortunate to have Cheryl's expertise as paddlers prepare for the upcoming 2010 Worlds.
