Erica has experienced success as a competitor in a variety of paddling disciplines.  She has National titles in sprint kayaking and several International podium finishes in dragon boat and sprint outrigger canoe, including a gold and silver medal at the 2007 World Dragon Boat Championships, three silver medals at the 2008 World Outrigger Sprints and a gold at the 2009 World Dragon Boat Championships.  Erica also completed her first OC-6 Molokai Crossing in 2008 with an impressive 8^th place finish.  She brings all of this experience to her coaching, having worked with paddlers of all ages in each of these three paddling disciplines.  Erica is a high school math teacher and brings her love of making learning fun to her coaching.  Whether in math or paddling, Erica expects her pupils to strive to do their best and nurtures this drive in a light-hearted but disciplined and detailed way.
